The Pantone Colour Of The Year Living Coral Dominated The Ramp At LFW SR’19

The Pantone colour of the year 2019 is Living Coral and we couldn’t be happier. Reminiscent of an enchanting glow left behind after a beautiful vacation in the tropics, the bright and sunny hue exudes warmth, love and happiness. Bright pops of coral and orange dominated the runways at Lakmé Fashion Week SR’19. Coral is one of the most wearable shades on your lips, eyes, cheeks and nails. If reds are too bright and pinks are too feminine for you, coral falls right in between. Keep it clean or layer it up to look fiercely chic, the ball is in your court!

The Reverse Sunset

Kanika Goyal decided to flip everything we knew about eyeshadow on its head. The makeup for her show was a bright, refreshing take on conventional sunset eyes. A bright pop of coral eyeshadow was swept across under the brow bone. The eyeshadow was blended until it faded into a light, yellowish tint. The lids were kept bare with just a smidge of golden eyeshadow in the center. A similar shade of blush was swept across the highest point of the cheekbones extending towards the eyes. The lips were kept nude and slightly glowy. A little bit of tinted lip balm is all you need. The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Beach has every hue you need to nail the look! Anupma Mehra, National Creative Director of Makeup at Lakmé Salon described the look as a reverse eyeshadow. She says “Bright orange and coral eyeshadow has been done way too many times before. Since we wanted to make a bold statement, the reverse eyeshadow was a clear winner. Usually, eyeshadow is darker near your lash line and fades out as you reach your brow bone. For this reverse eyeshadow look, you want the eyeshadow to be darkest under your brow and gradually fade into nothing as you reach your lids ”

Fire and Ice

Sayantan Sarkar’s show was everything hot and cold and we’re in love with the amalgamation of these opposites. A fiery coral blush was swept under the eyes extending all the way to the temples. You can use a cream or a powder blush to get the look. The Kareena Kapoor Khan By Lakmé Absolute Cheek Contour in Peach Princess and the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Coral Blush are both great options. An icy silver eyeshadow like the one in the Lakmé 9 To 5 Eye Quartet Eye Color in Smokey Glam covered the eyelids while the skin and lips were bare but glowy.

A quick trick we picked up from the makeup artist is to use a coral eyeshadow when you don’t have a bright orange blush or vice versa! The eyebrows were filled in with an eyebrow pencil and roughed up a little bit using a spoolie. The Kareena Kapoor Khan By Lakmé Absolute Eye Brow Definer in Espresso is dual ended and has a spoolie!

Pastel Popsicles

Eka’s show saw a pop of neon on the lids while the rest of the skin was bare. A pastel coral eyeshadow was applied to the entire eyelid while a cool-toned pink blush brought some colour to the cheeks while the lips were the perfect shade of barely there! Use the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Coral Blush as eyeshadow and blush! Spritz your eyeshadow brush with some setting spray to get that pop of colour on your lids.
