The commencement show at Lakmé Fashion Week SR '19 has been a reverie of colours and statement looks. A bevy of gorgeous models sashayed down the runway wearing Gen Next garb and what can only be called clown-meets-carnival chic makeup. For the love of all things pop colour, the Gen Next show presented by the new age designers at INIFD was an ideal start to the main show at Jio Garden, Mumbai. Here's what official makeup expert at Lakmé Fashion Week, Marianna Mukuchyan’s runway celebrations looked like.
Gen Next Saw Heart Blush, Graphic Eyeliner And Yellow Lids At LFW SR ‘19
Kicking the show off was an on-point graphic eyeliner look. A crisp line of red meets blue drawing a right angle, starting at the crease and ending at the end of the eye. This combined with a bare face made an uber chic statement.
To replicate this look just use the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Lip Definer in Ruby to draw on the crease starting in the inner corner parallel to your brow, roughly ending at the brow bone. Follow this up with an Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Eye Definer in Cobalt starting where the red line ended, draw a right angle line going towards the end of your eye. Using a thin eyeliner brush or a smudging tool, smudge out the line where red meets blue so it looks seamless.
Mariana suggests you start with using a pencil so you have more control over the crisp line. If you make any mistakes, just clean them up with a q-tip.
Clown cheeks got a high fashion upgrade when the models of Birdwalk by Amrapali Singh showcase took to the ramp with the ‘Queen Of Hearts’ Collection, with a bright red heart drawn on their cheek. “The idea here is to use a wet brush to create an outline just so the colour is more pigmented and the heart is more defined,” said Marianna.
Another blush trend was spotted when models walked the ramp with bright yellow under eyes and bright coral blush that started at the middle of cheek extending all the way up to the temples. Well, it looks like Pantone's colour of the year is definitely sitting right in the fashion world.
While some models walked with a heart on their cheek, there were some who walked with the sun on their eyes. Yellow eyeshadow ruled the ramp to compliment designer Madhumita Nath’s vision. The yellow lids also had a pearl stud glued on the upper and lower lid. The thought behind this edgy look was to compliment the mustard and white, rustic colour scheme of the outfits.
To replicate this look you could use the Lakmé 9to5 Eye Color Quartet Eye Shadow in Desert Rose with a fluffy eyeshadow brush for sheer coverage.
Silver glitter seems like a crowd favourite. Marianna, who absolutely loves glitter and would like to sprinkle it wherever she can decided to showcase glitter in a new light. Glitter isn’t always about being overdone but can also let out a vibe of elegance. She decided to use a silver liquid shimmer eyeshadow starting in the inner corner, sweeping over the lid all the way to the temples. It starts off with a heavy hand in the inner corner, going into a more sheer finish on the lid and finally ending with a statement bang near the temples.
If this is a hint for what's to come, we might be in for a fabulous makeup time at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019.
